Privacy notice for our use of CCTV

We use CCTV in some of our locations, both inside and outside buildings, to help keep people, buildings and belongings safe.

CCTV is used in a way that is proportionate and respectful of privacy. It is not used to monitor day-to-day activity but may be reviewed if an incident occurs.

Clear signs are displayed where CCTV is in operation.

What we collect

CCTV systems record video footage of people in and around our premises.

We do not record audio.

Why we use CCTV

We use CCTV to:

  • Help keep people safe
  • Prevent and detect crime or anti-social behaviour
  • Support the management and security of our buildings
  • Investigate incidents where necessary

How CCTV footage is used

Footage is only accessed when necessary, for example:

  • To review an incident
  • To support an investigation
  • To respond to a request from law enforcement

Access to footage is restricted to authorised staff, such as service managers responsible for the site.

Sharing CCTV footage

We may share CCTV footage where necessary, including with:

  • Law enforcement agencies (such as the police)

We will only share footage where there is a valid, legal reason to do so.

How long we keep CCTV footage

CCTV footage is usually kept for a limited period (typically around 30 days) and is then automatically deleted.

Footage may be kept longer where it is required as part of an investigation.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to CCTV footage that includes you.

If you would like to make a request, please contact us using the details in our General Privacy Notice. We may need additional information to help us locate the relevant footage.
