What We Do

When you’re struggling with your mental health, having a calm place to go and someone to speak to can make the situation feel more manageable.

Derbyshire Safe Haven provides in-person support during the evening from 4:30pm to 11pm, when many other services may be closed. Our team offers a welcoming environment where you can speak openly about how you’re feeling and what’s been happening.

You can visit for an informal conversation or receive individual emotional support from a trained mental health support worker. The team can help you explore ways of managing difficult thoughts and feelings while also identifying other services that may be able to offer further help.

Our Chesterfield mental health support service is designed to help reduce immediate distress and make it easier for you to access appropriate support at the right time.

More About Us

Derbyshire Safe Haven provides out-of-hours, face-to-face support for Derbyshire residents who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

The service provides a relaxed environment where you can speak informally with the team or receive individual emotional support. Our trained mental health support workers will listen to what you are experiencing and help you think about ways to manage your thoughts and feelings.

As well as providing support during a difficult period, the team can share information about other services. This may help you find further or more specialist assistance when it is needed.

The service focuses on reducing immediate distress, supporting health and wellbeing and helping people access suitable support.

This service is commissioned by NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board.

We change lives, every day. Your support helps us to ensure that we can.
