Act Local, Think National: The Impact of P3 Charity’s Partnership with Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Keepmoat

P3 Charity and P3 Housing Association – both proud members of the P3 Group – are proud to be part of an ongoing, impactful initiative across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, led by Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Keepmoat, focused on reducing the carbon footprint of both organisations while supporting P3’s vital community work.

Through a series of thoughtful collections organised by Barratt and David Wilson Homes and Keepmoat teams, P3 have been collecting surplus and waste materials over the past year to repurpose across P3 properties, significantly improving living conditions for our residents, reducing maintenance costs for P3 and reducing the carbon footprint of both Keepmoat and Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

Alongside its positive environmental benefits, this collaboration has provided invaluable support to P3 through generous donations of timber lengths, tiles, external and internal doors and kitchen materials, providing essential resources that strengthen our community initiatives and help transform the lives of hundreds of people across Derbyshire.

The P3 Group exists to provide safe, stable homes and supportive services to people who are going through difficult times. We operate programmes and offer affordable housing across local authorities all over England, supporting more than 30,000 people each year. Precisely because of our scale, the P3 Group is deeply committed to environmental responsibility. As part of our Environmental Pledge, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint, promote sustainable practices and ensure that our operations positively impact both the planet and the communities we serve. Our partnerships with Keepmoat and the Barratt and David Wilson Homes perfectly embody that commitment by turning potential waste into valuable resources, supporting both environmental sustainability and social good.

Mark Simms, CEO at P3 Charity, said: “A home is more than just a building: It’s a place where people feel safe, secure and able to thrive. Thanks to this partnership, we are moving closer to realising that vision for the young people and homeless families we support every day.”

This sentiment was echoed by Craig Norton, Head of Asset Management at P3 Charity: “This partnership exemplifies how collaboration and creativity can turn surplus materials into real, lasting change for our residents. By repurposing these resources, we’re not only reducing waste, but creating safer, more welcoming homes for those who need them most. It’s a powerful reminder that together, we can build stronger communities and brighter futures.”

Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, added: “We are immensely proud to support P3 and contribute to its mission of building inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. Our team is deeply committed to making a meaningful difference, and our regular collections for P3 allow us to actively support individuals in our local areas.”

Adam Sharpe, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat East Midlands, commented: “At Keepmoat, we believe homes go beyond bricks and mortar and we are proud to champion partnership and sustainability initiatives that deliver meaningful change. Our values strongly align with the vital mission of P3, a charity dedicated to supporting young people and families facing homelessness.

“We are delighted to collaborate with P3 to help expand its life-changing services. By donating surplus materials, we not only support those most in need but also contribute to a more sustainable future – creating a positive impact on both people and the environment.”
