P3 Charity Celebrates Double Shortlisting at the 2026 Charity Times Awards

We’re delighted to share that P3 Charity has been shortlisted in two categories at the Charity Times Awards 2026.

Our organisation has been recognised in the Change Project of the Year category for our ambitious rebrand, website redevelopment and communications transformation, while our Chair of Trustees, Adam Hackett, has been shortlisted for Charity Chair of the Year.

The Charity Times Awards celebrate the very best of the charity sector, recognising organisations and individuals making a lasting difference to communities across the UK. To be shortlisted in two categories is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the passion, dedication and hard work of our colleagues, trustees, volunteers and the people we work alongside.

Transforming how people access support

Over the past two years, we’ve delivered one of the most ambitious transformation programmes in P3’s history.

As our services continued to grow and evolve, we recognised that our website, branding and communications needed to evolve too. We wanted to make it easier for people to understand who we are, what support we offer and, most importantly, how they can access it.

We know that finding help can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re experiencing homelessness, poor mental health, housing difficulties or another challenging situation. That’s why accessibility and inclusion were at the heart of everything we did.

Working closely with colleagues, trustees, volunteers and people who use our services; we created a new visual identity, developed a fully accessible website and transformed the way we communicate across our digital channels.

Our new website has been designed to make finding support as simple as possible. It includes clearer navigation, an accessibility widget, translation into 249 languages, plain English content and improved mobile performance, helping more people access the information they need quickly and confidently.

Erin Coburn, Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, who led on the project, said: “We’re incredibly honoured to be shortlisted in the Change Project of the Year category. This recognition reflects not only two years of careful planning and collaboration, but also the value the charity sector places on thoughtful, inclusive co-design.

“Our rebrand and website redevelopment were never vanity projects. They were driven by our commitment to making our services more accessible for the people who rely on them, while ensuring our brand and digital presence genuinely reflect the communities we support. This isn’t the end of the journey. It’s a commitment to continually listening, learning and improving, so that everything we create remains accessible, inclusive and representative of the people we’re here to serve.”

The impact has already been significant.

Over the past year, visits to our Get Support page have increased by more than 60%, successful referrals have increased by 490 and ineligible referrals have reduced by 1,226. These improvements mean more people are finding the right support first time, making it easier to access the services that are right for them.

One person using our website shared, “I use the dyslexia-friendly font on the P3 Charity website and find it extremely helpful. The accessibility icon made it easy to find and I didn’t have to explain that I struggle with reading. It’s also saved for future visits, which makes the website much easier to use.”

For us, this project has always been about much more than a new look. It’s about removing barriers, improving access to support and making sure that anyone who needs help can find it.

Celebrating Adam Hackett’s leadership

We’re equally proud to see our Chair of Trustees, Adam Hackett, recognised with a shortlisting for Charity Chair of the Year.

Adam joined our Board of Trustees in 2014 and became Chair in 2017. Since then, he has played a vital role in helping shape P3 into the organisation it is today.

Throughout his time as Chair, Adam has guided P3 through some of the most challenging periods the charity sector has faced, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis and increasing demand for support. At the same time, he has helped strengthen our governance, support sustainable growth and ensure we continue putting the people we work alongside at the heart of every decision we make.

One of Adam’s greatest achievements has been championing lived experience within our governance. Through the creation of our award-winning People Board, he has helped ensure that people with first-hand experience of our services have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of P3.

His commitment to making a difference extends far beyond our organisation. Throughout his career, Adam has dedicated his time and expertise to supporting charities and communities, including his leadership at Rugby Portobello Trust and his governance role during the charitable response following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

As Adam prepares to retire after more than a decade of service, this shortlisting recognises not only his outstanding leadership at P3, but his lifelong commitment to supporting good causes and helping communities thrive.

I’m incredibly proud of everyone who helped shape this work, especially the people who use our services, whose voices guided every step of the journey.”

Adam Hackett, Chair of P3’s Board of Trustees, added, “I am deeply moved by my nomination for Charity Times Chair of the Year 2026. I find myself reflecting on not only on what P3 has achieved during the last nine years but on the extraordinary people who have made those achievements possible. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life to serve an organisation whose values, purpose and commitment to social justice remain as strong today as when I first became involved.

“When I became Chair in 2017, I could not have predicted the scale of the challenges that lay ahead. During that period, we have navigated a global pandemic, rising homelessness, increasing pressure on public services, a cost-of-living crisis and growing levels of complexity in the lives of many of the people and communities we work alongside.

Throughout all of this, one thing has remained constant: P3’s unwavering commitment to creating positive change. In a world that can often feel uncertain, divided and under pressure, P3 has continued to provide stability, opportunity and hope.

“The need for organisations that believe in people, challenge injustice and create opportunity has never been greater. The future will require ambition, innovation and resilience, qualities that P3 has demonstrated throughout its history, and which continue to define the organisation today.”

Being shortlisted in two national award categories is something we’re incredibly proud of. It recognises not only the work we’ve done to make our services more accessible, but also the people who make that work possible every day.
