Small Acts of Kindness Make Big Change This Easter

Thanks to the generosity of UKWS, High Peak Comps and Chesterfield Football Club, hundreds of Easter eggs were handed out across P3 Charity’s services in Derbyshire. The gift is more than a simple donation: it’s a gesture that help the people we support to feel valued and included in their communities.

The donations went to people using P3’s BeWell wellbeing programme, our hoarding support service, our Independent Living and Outreach services and our local accommodation services. These services support people facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health difficulties, creating safe, supportive environments that go beyond meeting basic provision.

Rebecca Shortland, Service Manager for P3’s Independent Living Service in Derbyshire, said, “I’d like to say a big thank you to our friends at UKWS, High Peak Comps and Chesterfield Football Club for their incredible support this Easter. Each Easter egg is a reminder to the people we support that someone is thinking of them and that they matter.”

Jodie Carter, Senior Wellbeing Worker for BeWell at P3 Charity, added, “We’re proud to support around 130 individuals who are experiencing, or recovering from ill mental health. Each person we work with has their own unique story and we know that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference, and a treat as simple as chocolate can lift a person’s spirits.”

Jodie continued, “The generosity of local businesses plays a vital role in the work we do. Without their support, and the efforts of our dedicated fundraisers, these uplifting gestures simply wouldn’t be possible. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helps us bring moments of joy to the people we support.”

High Peak Comps has been a long-standing supporter of P3’s services, Chesterfield Football Club has been supporting P3 for more than a year and UKWS is a welcome new partner for 2026-27.

Nicola McCormack, Sustainability and Social Value Coordinator for UKWS, said: “I had the opportunity to deliver Easter eggs to P3 Charity’s Ilkeston Community Hub on behalf of UKWS. It’s a small gesture but knowing it will help brighten someone’s day across the communities that P3 supports puts things into perspective. Moments like this are a good reminder of the impact simple acts of kindness can have.”

We’re incredibly grateful to all our partners who help make moments like this possible. If your organisation would like to support people in your community, we’d love to hear from you. To find out how you can get involved, click the button below.
