Matin first moved to the UK in 2023 following economic challenges back home and the loss of his brother, all Matin wanted to do was move away to work and provide for his family.

At first, he struggled to adjust to the language and culture which is why he visited P3’s Yiewsley Navigator to make sure he knew what his next steps were and what he needed to do to stay on track with the correct paperwork.

Matin says, “When I [met P3] in 2023, I was so hopeful that I’d be able to move my wife here from back home, but I had so many problems at that time – especially with the loss of my brother and finances.

“When I found out that she was pregnant, I came back to P3 Charity in Hillingdon for help. That’s where I was introduced to Patricia, she’s a very good woman – so helpful and so nice. Anytime I’d ask for help, she’d give me help for housing or financial problems.”

Matin explains how meeting Patricia, Family Advice Worker for P3 Charity, helped him and his wife adapt to life in the UK and get everything ready for when their baby arrives.

Talking about his support, Matin says “[At the P3 Navigator,] there is always a smile which gives me positive energy. When I’d ask them for help, they’d always say ‘yes with pleasure’. This made a [difference] to me when I was jobless and they helped me to get funds for the baby, which I’m always thankful for.

“Since I found P3 Charity, [I’ve made] so many positive changes in life. I have a better understanding of what to do next.”
