Vikramjit’s Story

Vikramjit has been supported by P3’s Family Advice Service in Hillingdon for the past three and a half years. What began as help with paperwork, finances and balancing family life quickly grew into something far more meaningful.

Vikramjit explains that the relationships she has built with support workers and the people she has met through community groups have given her a real sense of belonging in her new home. What once felt unfamiliar now feels welcoming and connected, thanks to the trust, encouragement and shared experiences she has found along the way.

She describes how these relationships have helped her grow in confidence, feel less isolated and begin to see a future where she and her family can truly thrive.

Through P3’s Family Advice Services, families like Vikramjit’s can access a wide range of support tailored to their needs; from practical advice on benefits, finances and managing a home, to guidance around education, employment and mental health. The service also offers opportunities to connect with others through social activities, as well as signposting to specialist support when needed, helping families feel safer, more informed and better equipped to move forward.

She says, “They have done everything for me, in particular Patricia (P3 Family Advice Worker) who is very good and helped me with everything. Not forgetting Vicky (another P3 Family Advice Worker), who is new but has helped me fill so many forms. Here, I am very happy.”

Vikramjit goes on to talk about the positive experience she has had while receiving support from the service, saying, “What is so different about [P3] is that they don’t help you in a [formal] way, they help you like they’re your family and friends. They never ever refuse to help, they will always see you even if it takes some time.

“I’m living sort of between Hillingdon and Uxbridge, so whenever I meet people in the area who need help, I always send them [to P3].”
